7. How Must the The Source Demonstrate Compliance?

MonitoringThe source must demonstrate compliance by meeting the applicable requirements in the EG/NSPS and, if the owner is required to install a collection and control system, they must maintain monitoring parameters within acceptable ranges. In addition, you must submit reports every 6 months which would include any notifications of deviations from the monitoring parameter values.The source must develop and implement a written SSM plan according to the provisions in section 63.6(e)(3). If the operator takes action during a SSM event, they must keep records for that SSM event which demonstrate that they followed the procedures specified in the SSM plan. The source must submit a report every 6 months if the action is consistent with the SSM plan. However, if the action is not consistent with the SSM plan, you must notify EPA within 2 days of the SSM event and must follow up with a letter within 7 days of the event (section 63.10(d)(5)(ii)).
